The Schatzhaus Erzgebirge is largely barrier-free.
The main entrance is not barrier-free, so please ring the bell. The barrier-free entrance is at the back of the building (rear entrance), our staff will show you the way. The house has a stair lift that takes you easily to the 1st floor. The disabled toilet is located on the 1st floor.
Visitors who are blind or visually impaired can touch individual exhibits. Please ask the staff. Guide dogs are allowed in the exhibition rooms.
Address for navigation devices:
Bürgermeister-Hesse-Straße 7/9
08309 Eibenstock
The easiest way to get here is from the S283 (Aue-Klingenthal) via the access road Auerbacher Straße (at the Rehmerbach reservoir). Here you can simply drive straight ahead at the crossroads into Brühl Street, which becomes Bürgermeister-Hesse-Straße. The Schatzhaus is on the right-hand side. Coaches can park directly in front of the main entrance.
Coming from the city centre, you can either take Schönheider Straße with a hairpin bend into Brühl Straße. Alternatively, cars can enter via Postplatz and Bergstraße. At the end of Bergstraße turn right into Hugo-Zschau-Straße, which becomes Bürgermeister-Hesse-Straße. The Schatzhaus is on the left after the market.
Parking for cars and buses in front of the house.
Parking spaces are available directly on the street in front of the main entrance to the Schatzhaus and across the street in a free car park next to the primary school.
Bicycles can be safely parked at the back of the house.
The Schatzhaus Erzgebirge is a "Family-friendly leisure facility", a brand of the Tourismus Marketing Gesellschaft Sachsen (TMGS). The museum is child-friendly, and we have a nappy-changing room and a play corner. The nappy-changing room is located on the 1st floor on the left in the disabled WC. Depending on the age of the child, search or puzzle games can be played.
Animals of any kind are not allowed in the museum. Assistance dogs (for blind or physically impaired visitors) may be brought along if an appointment is made in advance.
Guests must behave in accordance with the house rules (Display in the foyer).
Touching exhibits is prohibited, as is eating and drinking. Bulky items such as large bags, rucksacks or suitcases etc. must be left in the vehicle if possible. In exceptional cases, these may be left next to the ticket office, but this must be clarified with our staff. No liability will be assumed.
Photography without flash and filming is permitted for private use only. Commercial photography and video recordings are subject to authorisation and a fee.
For groups of 10 or more, we can arrange for you to visit a local embroidery company, where you can experience today's state-of-the-art production. You can also find more information under Partners.
Would you like to visit the exhibitions with a school class or kindergarten group? We have special offers for older and younger children. You can find out more under Guided tours.
For pedelec and e-bike riders, a free charging cabinet is available in the entrance area of the museum. Please bring a suitable charging cable yourself. Keys for the charging lockers are available at the reception. Please note that charging the batteries is only possible during opening hours and cannot be done overnight.
Our museum offers archive and library use for anyone interested after prior registration (Tel./Fax 037752 - 2141). A fee of 10.00 € per day is payable.
